How It All Clicked

My love for photography began at the age of 10, when my parents gifted me my very first Yashica film camera. From that moment, I knew it was something I would never put down. I started by photographing my sisters, family, and friends—and by the age of 15, I was already capturing families, birthday celebrations, children, and newborns.

In 2009, I moved to Edmonton to pursue my Master’s in Computer Science at the University of Alberta. While studying, I actively engaged with INDSA (Indian Students Association), where I regularly captured performances and community events. This experience gave me the perfect opportunity to step into lifestyle photography. What began as a passion and a side project soon blossomed into Photography by Abhinav (formerly Impressions By ABHiNAV).

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of photographing landscapes, portraits, themed shoots, family milestones, engagements, and weddings—each holding its own story and charm. I’ve always been drawn to Canon gear for the authenticity of its colors and compositions, and I’m grateful to pair that with the joy of working alongside incredible clients across Edmonton and beyond.
